BELFAST-based property developer Mayfair Group says it plans to build 500 sustainable homes across the UK and Ireland over the next five years in what will be a private investment of more than £100 million.

The homes will all be delivered under it ‘Mayfair Zero’ brand, which incorporates world leading renewable energy solutions, with each property equipped with integrated solar panels, solar battery storage systems and electric vehicle charge points as well as smart grid technology.

And the initial phase of the first Mayfair Zero development at Thorburn Gate, off the Antrim Road in north Belfast, reached sale agreed within just 60 seconds of being released.

Mayfair Zero homes are designed in conjunction with Mayfair Group company Encom Energy, which provides sustainable futures technologies for homes and businesses across Britain, Ireland and Europe.

Last month Mayfair Group (www.mayfairgroupltd.com) was named UK residential developer of the year and Northern Ireland residential developer of the year at the prestigious International Property Awards in London, while its director Victoria Patterson won the Ulster Tatler Businesswoman of the Year title.

She said: “As a family business, we care deeply about our responsibility to protect the planet for future generations, and this ambitious plans to deliver 500 sustainable homes over the next five years sets out our commitment to playing a leading role in the fight against climate change.

“We also believe it aligns with what people want from their homes, which is the opportunity to support the shift to net zero carbon emissions without compromising on modern living.

“Interest in our Thorburn Gate development shows that, when given the choice, people will choose to live sustainably, and we are proud to be providing that choice.”

Mayfair Group is also pioneering a unique approach to sales that enables buyers to purchase their new home directly via Mayfair Residential. This includes a streamlined three-step process which allows applicants to get financially qualified online before reserving their new home.

Victoria added: “We want to make sure our clients enjoy the experience of buying their new home, and this removes the time and costs associated with the traditional home buying process.”
