Al Gelato expansion to third shop leads to 10 new jobs

INDIGENOUS desserts-maker Al Gelato is creating 10 jobs with the opening of its third Belfast shop on the Lisburn Road this weekend, bringing its total staff numbers to 25.

Established in 2017 on the Ormeau Road, it quickly added a second shop on the Newtownards Road, and its newest outlet is located next to the iconic Café Fish fish and chip shop.

Al Gelato produces its home-made gelato using high quality locally-sourced ingredients, such as dairy from Draynes Farms in Lisburn, handmade honeycomb from Aunt Sandra’s Candy Factory in East Belfast and fruit from St George’s Market in Belfast.

Owner Alistair Macauley said: “Despite the challenges of the past year, we've seen continued support from customers in both Belfast locations. Even throughout lockdown our customers continue to order online or show their support by safely visiting us in store.”

Al Gelato’s three branches are open from 2-9pm seven days a week and can also be ordered for delivery via Deliveroo.
