The highly anticipated collaboration between American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan and Irish icon Hozier has arrived.
The pair recorded a harmonious duet of Northern Attitude from Kahan’s Stick Season album, which was released in 2022.
The song reflects Kahan’s experiences growing up in Vermont, feeling isolated and uncertain about the world. Although the track has always been highly emotive due to Kahan’s raw and honest delivery, the addition of Hozier’s vocals creates a stunning soundscape that allows the listener to feel the emotion in an intimate and intense way.
“Hozier sang my song one way and now every single time I perform it I do it that way”, Kahan shared on X after the song's release.
Adding, "If you know me at all you know this collaboration is something very deeply special and important to me.
"I used to sit down at the table with my guitar and just try to capture a fraction of the emotion and beauty Hozier encapsulates in each song he writes.
"It never quite worked, but each song was better for trying. To have one of my heroes performing this song with me I'll tell my grandkids, or at least my next dog."
Hozier also took to X to express his love for the song and working with Kahan.
"When I first heard Northern Attitude, I loved it immediately" he said.
"I've had the great pleasure of getting to know Noah more since we first sang together at Iron Blossom Festival and I'm so glad we could get together on this version of his beautiful song."
Fans have been desperate for a collaboration between the two indie singers ever since Hozier’s guest appearance during Kahan’s performance in Nashville last month. The reimagined version of Northern Attitude is the latest in a series of high-profile duets from Kahan. This year alone he has collaborated with Kacey Musgraves, Post Malone, Zach Bryan and Lizzy McAlpine, leaving fans wondering who he will work with next.

Both Kahan and Hozier are on tour now and will be until early next year. With Kahan set to play at the National Stadium in Dublin on November 15 and the 3Arena on February 8, 2024.

Hozier will be playing the SSE Arena Belfast on December 17, the 3Arean on December 19, 20 and 22. He also released tickets on November 10 for his Unreal Unearth shows with Brittany Howard and Lord Huron in Dublin, London, Chepstow and Glasgow.
