Co Down singer-songwriter Ryan McMullan has announced a headline show in Belfast later this year.

Following a string of sold out Belfast shows, McMullan is pleased to announce a headline show at the Ulster Hall on Friday December 15.

Writing on Twitter, an excited McMullan said: “Nothing beats a hometown show on your birthday weekend. BELFAST!! Let’s have a night.”

The past two years has seen Ryan play two sold out Ormeau Park, Belsonic shows alongside Dermot Kennedy, two nights at the Waterfront Hall and completed a sell-out Irish Tour, including two Custom House Square shows.

The 32-year-old is one of the most exciting young singer-songwriters around, McMullan has toured worldwide with some of the likes of Ed Sheeran, Snow Patrol, Kodaline and Foy Vance.

In 2021 Ryan McMullan: Debut a beguiling documentary portrait of the Portaferry-born singer was released.

However, he hasn’t been without his own personal struggles, and last year was forced to cancel his Resdesign tour to the UK, US, Canada, mainland Europe and Australia.

"Dear best fans in the world. It is with the heaviest of hearts that, with the exception to the Belfast show and the Derry show, I have decided to cancel the Redesign tour," he wrote.

"I'm heartbroken to have to do this, especially with the release of my debut album, but the truth is I've been struggling a lot lately with my mental health and after speaking to professionals and my incredibly supportive team, I have decided that the best thing for me to do right now is to take a step back from touring."

Tickets for Ryan McMullan's Ulster Hall show on December 15 will go on sale this Friday, May 19 at 10am from Ticketmaster.ie.
