WAKE up, time to buy tickets for one or more of Therapy?'s upcoming acoustic dates, the rock trio's first ever Irish tour as an 'unplugged' entity.

But wait: before you scream 'sacrilege' and rush off to burn your signed copy of Suicide Pact: You First in protest, know that many of the band's rowdiest songs actually work extremely well in the acoustic guitar-based idiom.

Hardcore fans will already have discovered this via frontman Andy Cairns's pair of 'tour only' solo acoustic albums, 53 Minutes Under Byker (2013) and F*** You Johnny Camo (2014), which found the Therapy? leader strumming and hollering his way through classic tracks including Stories, Potato Junkie, Screamager, Meat Abstract and Die Laughing.

Due to the overwhelmingly positive reception afforded to that side-project, late last year the full band embarked on their first ever acoustic tour, dubbed Wood & Wire, to similarly enthusiastic responses from audiences across Europe.

The limited edition CD of acoustic versions produced for these dates – well worth having for its sublime version of Gone alone – will hopefully get re-pressed for the upcoming Irish shows at Whelan's in Dublin (April 25), The Empire in Belfast (April 26) and Dundalk's Spirit Store (April 27), Cyprus Avenue in Cork (April 28), Roisin Dubh, Galway (April 29) and Dolan's Warehouse in Limerick (April 30).

And, lest you worry that it's going to be Aran jumpers and delicate folk ditties for Therapy? from here on out, be advised that Andy, Michael and Neil will be soon be back in the studio and making a fully amplified racket while recording their 15th album.
