SEAMUS Heaney HomePlace and the Lyric Theatre are set to collaborate on a unique new production celebrating one of Heaney's most personal collections, Station Island.

Performance Reflections on Station Island will take place in The Helicon at Seamus Heaney HomePlace in Bellaghy on Saturday March 11, directed by Lyric executive producer Jimmy Fay and combining spoken word, film, and sound.

Composers and performers Paul Stapleton and Steve Davis will provide an improvised musical interpretation of the text, as actor Seamus O'Hara delivers a dramatic reading of the poems.

Commenting on the collaboration, Brian McCormick, manager of Seamus Heaney HomePlace said: "Part of the mission of Seamus Heaney HomePlace is to bring the Nobel Laureate's poetry to life in a different way for audiences, working with local, national and international artists across music, theatre, drama, literature and film.

"We are delighted to be working with the Lyric Theatre – an organisation which was of great personal importance to Heaney – and look forward to seeing the results of their artistic exploration."
