THE FE McWilliam Gallery and Studio in Banbridge is currently hosting the largest ever exhibition of work by Belfast-born artist Susan MacWilliam.
Modern Experiments features video installations, sculpture and photography exploring concepts including paranormal phenomena, mediumship, ectoplasm, X-ray vision and telepathy.
Born in Belfast and based between Belfast and Dublin, where she lectures at the National College of Art and Design, MacWilliam has exhibited widely at home and abroad. She represented Northern Ireland at the Venice Biennale in 2009.
Many of her video subjects have been elderly: a specialised programme focusing on those living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia will accompany the exhibition at each venue.
:: The exhibition will run until November 26 before touring three other venues in Ireland next year. See FEMcWilliam.com.
