Get ready for Halloween with: Ghostbusters at GOH, tonight

Ghostbusters is showing at the Grand Opera House Belfast tonight

LISTEN, do you smell something? If the answer is 'yes', then don't wait another second: pick up the phone and call the professionals – or alternatively, the Grand Opera House, where you can purchase tickets for tonight's pre-Halloween screening of the 1984 supernatural comedy spectacular, Ghostbusters.

With Ghostbusters III looking increasingly awful with every new 'exclusive photo' that's revealed, there's no time like the present to revisit the Ivan Reitman-directed original film and get misty eyed for an era when it was still possible for a trio of comedy oddballs like Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd to become heroes for an entire generation of young and impressionable film fans.

Thirty one years after the fact, Ghostbusters' expertly judged blend of witty dialogue and supernatural thrills simply hasn't aged, unlike its increasingly creaky original audience – all of whom will now be older than the Ghostbusters themselves were in 1984.

If that should whet your appetite for the antics of 'the boys in grey', don't miss the rare revival screenings of the under-rated Ghostbusters II at The Strand Arts Centre next Friday and on Halloween itself.

:: Ghostbusters tickets £10 via Goh.co.uk/ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II tickets £3.50 via Strandartscentre.com.
