Shake, rattle and roll with Armagh blues festival
FORGET about the weather and shake off the summer blues with four days of jazz, blues and roots music as the Armagh 7 Hills Blues Fest gets under way today.
More than 50 musical acts will take to a multitude of stages across the city, from big ticket gigs including Mary Coughlan, Ronnie Greer, Pat McManus, and the Nigel Mooney Organ Trio to local and upcoming talent including Cup o'Joe, The Bear Necessities and Kick the Bucket.
Visitors who want to shop while they bop can head to the Shambles Market, The Mall Shopping Centre, and Market Square, all of which will feature performances and events.
Free events for families including Picnic in the Palace Demesne on Saturday with Ain't Missbehavin & Preacher Caseys. On Sunday a family fun day at The Shambles Yard will showcase food from some of the city's restaurants as well as locally made Armagh cider while there'll be fun and games and music from Dani and Four Shuck Men.
