Man killed in Co Tyrone farm accident is named

A MECHANIC who died after being trapped under machinery in Co Tyrone has been named locally as Benny Hamilton.

Mr Hamilton, who is understood to have been in his early forties, was taken to the South West Acute Hospital, after the accident on the farm on Aghadulla Road outside Dromore, but later died.

He was attempting to repair a farm vehicle when the tragedy happened at 2.30pm on Wednesday.

It is understood Mr Hamilton was an experienced mechanic who had lived for a long time in Omagh before moving recently to Lack, Co Fermanagh.

He is believed to be married with children.

It was the fourth farming-related accident in the north this year.
