Three people have been rescued from a fire in the Ligoniel area of Belfast in the early hours of Friday.
A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service said the alarm was raised just after 2am that a fire had broken out in a first floor apartment in a sheltered housing development in Springvale Gardens.
Eight fire appliances attended the incident including two from Springfield, two from Whitla, two from Lisburn, one from Cadogan and another from Central Fire Station.
Firefighters rescued two women and a man during the incident who were then cared for by the ambulance service.
Four jets were used to extinguish the fire which was extinguished just after 4.20am.
The cause of the outbreak is believed to have been accidental ignition.
