A 27-year-old man is due to appear in court today charged in connection with an alleged fight in east Belfast.

The man faces two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, false imprisonment, kidnapping, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is expected to appear before Newtownards Magistrates Court.

It is understood the charges relate to an alleged altercation at property at Rogers Place on Wednesday. Police said two men were found injured.

A 26-year-old man was also arrested at the scene and was later released on police bail.
