FOOTAGE of a daylight brawl in Belfast city centre has emerged on social media.

The video of Tuesday afternoon's incident shows a group of men and women exchanging blows on Castle Street, just metres away from shoppers.

The fight began on the pavement and moved into the middle of the road with one person falling to the ground before the two groups dispersed.

A police spokesperson said: “We received the report of a fight at around 4.25pm. Police attended the scene and, on arrival, the disruption had ended.

"While we have not received any formal complaints, our enquiries are ongoing."
