A FORMER U19 Northern Ireland international footballer, is nearing the end of a 2000 kilometre bike ride to Poland in aid of a young boy with a rare genetic condition.

Noel Johnston, a former under nineteen Northern Ireland international footballer, is nearing the end of an epic 2000 kilometre cycle to Poland, all in aid of two very deserving local causes.

Hope4Jordan was set up by the family of Jordan Priestly, a one-year-old boy with a rare life-limiting, chromosomal condition. It causes blindness, seizures and learning difficulties, as well as reduced life expectancy.

SENAC is the Special Educational Needs Advice Centre and helps around 800 families per year access Special Educational Needs provision.

Noel, from Omagh, hopes to raise £10,000 for the two causes. He looks likely to complete the distance ahead of his thirty day target, taking in Ireland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland.

Noel has been broadcasting his videos via his Facebook page. Earlier today he posted a clip to his Facebook page in which he described his ordeal.

"I'm just busted to be honest. Really, really tired. Both my knees are hurting, everything's hurting. But complaining about it is not going to get me any closer to Berlin."

His videos my also be viewed on SENAC’s Facebook page. You can give to both these causes at Noel's fundraising page, which will reamain open after he completes his cycle early next week.
