Leo Varadkar has ruled out participating in RTE celebrity show Dancing With The Stars.

Mr Varadkar, a known fan of the programme, cited poor balance and co-ordination as reasons not to enter.

However, the Taoiseach hinted that a former winner of the programme could be entering politics.

Asked by reporters if he would consider participating in the show, he said: “No, god no. No that would not be something I’d ever consider, no.

“Balance and co-ordination would not be my best strengths, unfortunately.”

This season’s Dancing With The Stars final will take place on St Patrick’s Day.

Mr Varadkar said the final is “wide open” between the remaining contestants

Speaking in Washington DC, he cryptically added: “Even though I will never be entering Dancing with the Stars, don’t underestimate the ability of people who have been winners to enter politics.”

He also suggested that Justice Minister Helen McEntee might be the best Cabinet minister to enter the show.
