Hang on to your hard hats, hens, because Sleb Safari has some breaking Challenge Anneka news.

Anneka Rice will lend you one of her 50 jumpsuits for your hen weekend - all you have to do is ask.

Anneka told the Daily Mirror she still has all her early 90s style jumpsuits at home and you're welcome to pick one, as long as you pop it in the washing machine before returning it.

“I’ve got, literally, a shrine to the jumpsuits. I’ve got about 50 of them I guess. I lend them out to people for hen nights,” Anneka explained.

That’s not unlike Mr Motivator whose bum bag collection spans two continents. He has 400 in his Jamaican home and 100 in England stored in sliding trays underneath his bed next to his unitards which are neatly rolled with their coordinating headbands.

He makes no mention of lending his gear to stag parties which is a shame because Brighton and Carlingford would benefit, but also understandable - would you want someone wearing your favourite unitard?

Anneka says there are people running round Brighton in her jumpsuits on the regular.

“They just get in touch by Instagram or Twitter,” she explained like a woman who doesn’t take herself or celebrity too seriously.

“And I go: ‘Yeah, whatever, have it, wash it afterwards, thank you’.

“They do treasure hunts, they do challenges in the Peak District. It’s an industry. They’ve got a new life.”

Anneka Rice spent the years 1989 to 1995 running from helicopter to kit  built Dakar 4×4, Dom-Joly-sized cordless phone in hand, calling in favours and lorry loads of cement, in a race against time. In one episode she had 48 hours to build an orphanage. The programme was a precursor to shows such as a DIY:SOS, helping charities, communities and individuals.

It won’t surprise you to learn that Challenge Anneka began life as a one-off stunt for Children In Need in 1987. At that point everyone knew Anneka from Channel 4’s Treasure Hunt which saw her racing about the place solving cryptic clues… to a deadline… wearing a jumpsuit… The woman was as fit as a fiddle while soundman Dave had a gold medal in running backwards.

Anneka took part in Strictly Come Dancing a few years ago where the wardrobe department dressed her in jumpsuits and, in one memorable performance, she reached the dancefloor by climbing down a rope ladder. Even though she spent a decade racing around, organising chaos and herding cats, it was Strictly that presented the real challenge. When the dust settled and she was back home among her 50-strong jumpsuit shrine Anneka said it felt as though “I ran away to the circus on my gap year and I’ve just come back to a pile of ironing”.

So please everyone, if you are DM-ing Anneka, asking to borrow a jumpsuit for your sister’s hen in Temple Bar, the least you can do is give it a full cycle, not a fast 30, then iron, wrap it in tissue paper and post it back to Anneka. The woman’s a treasure, let’s continue treating her as such.

Hugh Jackman tucks into waffles in Norwich

Sound the Celebrity In A Random Location klaxon please because we’ve got a Hollywood sighting in a Norwich waffle house.

Hugh Jackman popped into The Waffle House last week and didn’t bother choosing between savoury and sweet, he just had both.

Hugh dined on a savoury waffle with pan-fried Norfolk field mushrooms and cheddar cheese sauce and a bolognese sauce followed by a banoffee waffle with bananas, toffee sauce and flaked chocolate. He chose a fine milkshake to accompany his meal and posted the whole thing on Instagram.

We can all agree that was a good use of the Celebrity In A Random Location klaxon.

How do you scroll?

If you’re reading this and scrolling down the page using your index finger you are officially old. Or at least old in the eyes of Generation Z who prefer to scroll with their thumbs.

The company behind the game Candy Crush saga asked people about their scrolling habits and 80 per cent of Gen Z (those born between 1997 and 2012) were in favour of thumbs while 73 per cent of Boomers (those born between 1946 and 1964 ) preferred to use their index finger. Sleb Safari’s advice is to freak everyone out and use your toes.
