INDOOR leisure specialist Air-tastic is to expand its Lisburn site, creating 20 new jobs.

The trampoline, soft play and indoor entertainment group will launch its first ‘Cube Challenge’ at the Lisburn centre, after securing a seven-figure funding package from HSBC.

The new feature, which resembles the hit ITV show ‘The Cube’, will offer “a real-life gaming experience requiring players to complete a series of physical and mental challenges to gather as many points as they can within a set amount of time”, according to the company.

Launched in 2016 by the team behind Funky Monkeys play centres, the original trampoline business has expanded into a network of six leisure sites across the island of Ireland, offering everything from bowling and laser tag to mini golf and arcades.

Sites include in Cork, Kildare, Craigavon, Newtownabbey, Bangor and Lisburn.

Air-tastic said fresh finance from HSBC UK will allow it to add an extra 22,000 sq ft to its indoor centre in Lisburn, taking it to 45,000 sq ft in total.

The full site is planned to open in October 2023.

Air-tastic said it will allow the business to hire another 20 members of staff, taking the total number to 60.
