TWO new leisure attractions worth a combined total investment of £1.25 million are to create 55 jobs.

Trampoline park operator, Air-tastic has confirmed it is to open its fourth Irish location in December at Westwood Shopping Centre in west Belfast, while new kids play area, Global Adventure Play has opened in Ballynahinch.

The £750,000 Airtastic investment is set to create 35 jobs at the 20,000 sq ft trampoline park, which will also include a café and birthday party rooms.

Air-tastic currently has three parks, located in Bangor, Craigavon and Cork, employing 115 staff, with the Craigavon site opening earlier this month.

Sharyn Ingrey, area manager for Air-tastic said they are delighted to be opening new parks and investing in local communities.

“We are very excited to be bringing Air-tastic to Belfast and we can’t wait to open in December. Our state of the art trampoline park is a destination for the entire family, whether you’re six months or 60 years of age there’s something for everyone."

Meanwhile up to 20 jobs have been created at a new kids play area housed within the former Pinewick furniture store in Ballynahinch.

The £500,000 investment to create Global Adventure Play has resulted in the transformation of the Magheraknock Road site, with the 10,000 sq foot unit converted to a dedicated play area for children, including zones for 4-11 year-olds, younger children and interactive computer gaming.

Husband and wife team Stephen and Lisa Kearney, together with Margaret Kearney and husband Brian Bailey are behind the project, they believe will "provide much need play space for local families".

“We have used our collective experience to design a state of the art facility, including a Wild West Zone, an Ancient Greek Olympic assault course, slides, sports court and for younger children an interactive music wall and sensory panels," Stephen Kearney said.
