HENDERSON Foodservice has retained its Gold accreditation awarded against the Investors in People standard.

It means Henderson Foodservice, part of the Henderson Group, has been recognised by IiP as not only having significant policies in place, but it means the entire workforce takes ownership for making them come to life.

Henderson Foodservice employs more than 400 people throughout Ireland including those at their main distribution centre in Mallusk, alongside warehouse operatives and logistics drivers. It sources and supplies a range of 6,500 products to 4,500 customers across 11 sectors, including hotels, public sector offices and hospitals.

The company also owns and manages the Barista Bar coffee brand, of which there are now over 500 machines to be found in 480 Spar, EuroSpar and ViVO branded stores throughout Northern Ireland, with a developing customer base in GB.

Henderson Group human resources director Sam Davidson says the company’s workforce has faced significant challenges within the industry in recent years, which have been overcome with innovation and ingenuity.

H added: “Within Henderson Foodservice we are blessed with a team which is energised, innovative, and resilient. The past couple of years have seen the entire industry face significant challenges, and our colleagues are still working closely with suppliers to ensure the longevity of their recovery, and with customers to focus on providing a fantastic level of service.

“Henderson Group is one of the biggest employers in Northern Ireland and we ensure every opportunity to develop fantastic careers is afforded to our employees, as is the very culture of the group to put our people first.”

Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results.

Underpinning the standard is the IiP framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. IiP enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.

Paul Devoy, chief executive of Investors in People added; “We’d like to congratulate Henderson Foodservice. Gold accreditation on ‘We Invest in People’ is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and places Henderson Foodservice in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”
