Leitrim turn the tables on Lancashire to capture their first Lory Meagher tile

Lory Meagher Cup final: Leitrim 2-23 Lancashire 2-22 (After extra-time)

LEITRIM captured their first Lory Meagher title on Saturday after an epic battle with Lancashire which required extra-time to find a victor.

Lancashire looked set to make up for last year’s final defeat as they led 1-19 to 1-16 deep into stoppage time, only for a wonderful James Glancy goal to level matters for Leitrim.

With their tails up, the Connacht men streaked ahead in extra-time, a brace of Gavin O’Hagan points stretching the lead to five.

But Lancashire weren’t finished yet. A Ronan Crowley point, who finished the game with 1-9, was followed by a Conor Duggan goal as they reduced the deficit to the bare minimum.

Ultimately, the exiles came up short though as Leitrim saw the remaining minutes out to guarantee their maiden Meagher victory.
