The Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship between Derry and Monaghan will take place at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds on Sunday July 9 at 1pm.

It will be the first time that two Ulster counties have contested the All-Ireland minor final.

Derry booked their place in the decider with a win over Dublin at the Armagh venue on Sunday. Damian McErlain has guided the Oak Leaf youngsters to a second All-Ireland minor final after managing the team which took on a David Clifford-inspired Kerry in the 2017 decider.

Monaghan haven't played in the All-Ireland minor final since 1939 and have never won the title. They came a step closer with victory over Kerry in Saturday's semi-final in Tullamore and are managed by former Monaghan senior player Dermot Malone.

The two sides met twice in the Ulster Minor Championship, with Derry winning both teams include a penalty shoot-out victory over the Farneymen in the final.
