Raymond Galligan: Saved well from Brian Kennedy in the first half but was out-jumped by Ben McDonnell in the second half and McDonnell scored the only goal of the game. Went short with his kick-outs. 5.5

Jason McLoughlin: Tracked Darren McCurry in the first half but was called ashore before half-time with Cavan already well behind. 5

Padraig Faulkner: Up against Tyrone full-forward Cathal McShane and kept him relatively quiet in the first half. Substituted 20 minutes into the second half. 5

Conor Moynagh: Didn’t look fully fit. Sweeper in defence at times but often played too deep. Had Conor Meyler for company when he tried to get forward and wasn’t able to influence the game with his passing. One first half wide was as close as he came to scoring. 5

Conor Rehill: Picked up Michael Cassidy early on. Substituted after 23 minutes with Tyrone already looking on course for a commanding win. 5

Killian Clarke: Marked Niall Sludden who gave him the slip for points in each half. Cut a frustrated figure in the second half and was black-carded for crude grab at Mattie Donnelly. 5

Ciaran Brady: Stuck to his task against Peter Harte but the Errigal Ciaran clubman was too slippery for him. Replaced at half-time. 5

Conor Brady: Tyrone won the midfield battle and both Cavanagh and Brian Kennedy were able to get forward to score. 5

Gearoid McKiernan: Didn’t have anywhere near the impact Cavan fans would have hoped for. Couldn’t win enough primary possession and the trademark rampaging runs were absent. Landed two frees though. 5

Niall Murray: Played in his own half of the field. The go-to man for Galligan’s short kick-outs. Worked hard and scored two points from five attempts. 5

Dara McVeety: Ronan McNamee didn’t let him out of his sight. McVeety won an early free but was largely anonymous on Saturday. His sole point came in the 69th minute. 5

Gerry Smith: Scored a fine second half point. Over-run in the middle third as Tyrone players darted through in support runs and Smith – like several others – found himself chasing shadows. 5

Barry Fortune: Slotted into the half-back line but couldn’t get to the pitch of the game as Tyrone runners sliced through Cavan rearguard. 5

Cian Mackey: Blotted out and pushed to the periphery by Rory Brennan who did not give the Castlerahan clubman a sniff. 5

Martin Reilly: Anonymous on Saturday. He was earmarked as a potential threat and dealt with accordingly by a Tyrone defence in no mood to allow an upset. 5

Subs:

Conor Madden: Replaced Rehill after 23 minutes and added some energy to the Cavan attack. Shot wide off his left and scored a point off his right foot. Kept going and had a late goal chance saved by Morgan. 6

Oisin Kiernan: Came in for McLoughlin before half-time. Couldn’t turn the tide for Cavan. 5

Caoimhin O’Reilly: On for the second half was well shackled by Frank Burns and later Michael McKernan. 5

Stephen Murray: Unable to make an impact after being introduced at the break. 5

Killian Brady: Replaced Faulkner with 15 minutes left and the result already decided. 5

Thomas Galligan: Black card substitute for Clarke. Stationed on the edge of the Tyrone square but the ball rarely came in his direction. 5
