A cyclist has died following a road crash in Co Monaghan.
The woman, aged in her 70s, was involved in a collision with a car on Cootehill Road, close to Monaghan town, at around 1.20pm on Saturday.
The pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene, a Garda spokesperson said.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
“Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dashcam), and who were travelling on Cootehill Road, Co Monaghan, today, Saturday 21st October 2023, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, are asked to make this footage available to gardai,” a spokesperson said.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Monaghan Garda Station on 047 77200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.”
