A SERIES of special broadcasts, documentaries and podcasts have been revealed as part of RTÉ's marking of the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.

Among the line-up to begin in the days ahead is a landmark two-part documentary, The Agreement, to be presented by Miriam O'Callaghan, while another feature-length documentary on the role of the late Fr Alec Reid in the peace process, titled The Secret Peacemaker, is also set for broadcast on Easter Sunday.

RTÉ News is also planning "comprehensive coverage" of the anniversary across its platforms, led by the broadcaster's northern editor Vincent Kearney and northern correspondent Conor Macauley.

Miriam O'Callaghan will also front special editions of Prime Time, with the show on April 4 set to include an interview with former US President Bill Clinton and wife and former US Secretary Hillary Clinton.

On April 6, Ms O'Callaghan will present a live edition of Prime Time from Belfast, in which she will speak with residents on either side of the city's peace walls, while journalist Louise Byrne will meet the first baby born in the north following the agreement's signing.

Friday will see the special coverage kick off on RTÉ Radio 1, with a special Drivetime show part-presented from Derry's Guildhall.

Other scheduled broadcasts will include spoken essays from writers based in the north that have been commissioned by the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris.

Meanwhile, the broadcaster's Irish language coverage will include a panel discussion from the Raidió Fáilte studios in west Belfast, which will "hear from the younger generation about the type of future they would like to see".
