Man (45) extradited from Poland to face rape charge in Newry

A 45-year-old man wanted to stand trial for charges including rape and sexual assault has been extradited to Northern Ireland from Poland.

The man is also accused of assault, and the charges relate to the Newry area between 2011 and 2019.

He was extradited from Poland on Tuesday by officers from the PSNI's International Policing Unit, and is due to appear before Nerwy Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
