Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley look set to become TV's new power couple after it was revealed she is to become a new host on This Morning.

The English-born host (47) will next week step in to present the daytime chat show.

On Monday and Tuesday, she will host the programme alongside Rylan Clark before she co-presents with Dublin-born Craig Doyle on Wednesday.

It comes just a few months after her husband, Patrick Kielty, became the new presenter of RTÉ's Late Late Show.

The Co Down-born comedian took over from Ryan Tubridy, describing it as a "pinch me moment".

Deeley has been on hand to support her husband in his new role, saying he would do a "phenomenal job" as the host of the flagship chat show.

The couple, who have been married since 2012 and have two sons together, are often seen visiting Kielty's home village of Dundrum.

Now just two months after Kielty began his new presenting career, Deeley is about to embark on her own new hosting role.

Previously, a children's TV presenter for SM:TV Live and US entertainment show So You Think You Can Dance, Deeley's appearance on This Morning next week comes amid speculation over a permanent host role on the show following the departure of Holly Willoughby.

She said last month that she was stepping down from the programme after 14 years in the role.

Willoughby's former co-host Phillip Schofield left the show in May after he admitted to a relationship with a younger male former colleague.

Since Willoughby's departure, presenters including Doyle, Clark, Alison Hammond and Rochelle Humes have been hosting the ITV show.
