A 24-year-old man arrested for attempted murder in Co Down has been released on police bail.
Police had responded to a report of a stabbing in Ardglass around 2.40am on Sunday.
The arrested man has now been released to allow for further enquiries while the investigation continues.
After receiving a report that a man in his 20s had been stabbed in the Tullyronan area, a police spokesperson said it was believed that two men had become involved in a verbal altercation inside a licensed premises in the town earlier that evening.
“The men are believed to have left the premises and during a fight involving the two men, one of the men aged in his 20s received a number of stab wounds to his body,” they said.
“The man was taken to hospital for his injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.”

Meanwhile, after a separate assault in Newcastle, a 46-year-old man is due in court on Monday charged with false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
