Around 26,000 students across Northern Ireland are due to receive A-Level and AS results on Thursday.

Pupils from across more than 170 schools and colleges in the north will learn the overall outcome of A-Level and AS exams sat earlier this year and in 2022.

Over the next week, more than 58,000 students will receive grades in GCE, GCSE, CoPE, Occupational Studies, Online Language Assessment (OLA) and Vocational Qualifications.

On August 24, GCSE results for more than 30,000 students from across 243 centres in the north will be issued.

The Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA), Northern Ireland's exam board, has again this year taken account of the impact of Covid-19.

After the return to public exams in 2021/22, CCEA is continuing the journey back to the awarding arrangements that were in place before the pandemic.

It expects to return to pre-pandemic standards in awarding qualifications by summer 2024.

CCEA has set up a dedicated results helpline to offer advice and guidance for students receiving their results.

On A-Level results day, the helpline - 028 9026 1260 - will open at 8am.

From Friday until August 30, it will operate from 9am to 5pm with students also able to email helpline@ccea.org.uk.

Michael Crossan from CCEA said: "Results day can be a very exciting time, but we also understand that it can be an anxious time for students, parents and teachers.

"CCEA provides a helpline with experienced staff who can answer queries and provide information on the full range of post results services we offer.

"Access to this kind of information means students are better prepared for making important decisions about their future.

"On behalf of CCEA, I extend our best wishes to everyone awaiting their results and I wish you well as you embark on the next stage of your education or career."
