Suspected cannabis worth £585,000 seized at Belfast Harbour

SUSPECTED cannabis with a street value of over half-a-million pounds has been seized following the search of a vehicle at Belfast Harbour.

The suspected Class B drugs, worth an estimated £585,000, were found concealed in a heavy goods vehicle during a search at around 6am on Wednesday.

The search was carried out by Belfast Harbour Police officers and members of the PSNI's Organised Crime Team.

A 42-year-old man was arrested and remained in police custody on Wednesday evening.
