Police in Derry are investigating a second night of disorder in the city, with a number of incidents including shots fired in the Galliagh area.

A PSNI spokesperson said shots were fired between midnight and 1am on Wednesday, with other incidents including reports of cars being stoned on Moss Road in Shantallow, a fence being set on fire in Glendale Park and criminal damage to a bus in the vicinity of Slievemore Roundabout.

It was also reported that around 11pm on Tuesday night, a man had his car hijacked at the traffic lights on College Glen.

Two men were said to have approached the vehicle, with one of them opening a door and assaulting the driver.

The car was then driven off and is believed to have been set on fire on the green in Galliagh.

On Monday night, violence had erupted in the same area after materials had been removed from a bonfire site.
