A MAN has been charged after cannabis with an estimated street value of £204,000 was seized following the search of a house in east Belfast.

The operation led by the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch was aimed at targeting criminality linked to the UVF in the east Belfast area.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the house in the Albertbridge Road area following a search on Wednesday morning.

He was later charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug, two counts of possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, and all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
