POLICE have said they are not treating the death of a person whose body was recovered from the River Bann in Portadown as suspicious.
Emergency services were called to the Bridge Street area of the Co Armagh town on Saturday afternoon.
A PSNI spokesperson said it responded to a report of a "sudden death" in the area.
The area was cordoned off for a period following the report.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious," the spokesperson added.
Upper Bann DUP MLA Jonathan Buckley said in a social media post on Saturday: "I have continued to liaise with both police and community. My deepest sympathies are with the family and friends of those caught up in this tragedy."
