POLICE are appealing for information after a man armed with a spanner threatened a shop worker before making off with cash in Co Tyrone.

The robbery happened in the Main Street area of Coalisland at around 9.15pm on Monday.

The man threatened a male staff member before making off with a sum of cash towards the town's Barrack Street area.

He is described as being aged in his late 30s to early 40s, around 6ft in height and of slim build, while he was wearing a black hoodie pulled over his face with a black face mask underneath, black cotton tracksuit bottoms, black trainers and a glove.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to this investigation, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 2253 12/06/23."
