Scorching weather to continue in Northern Ireland after hottest day of the year

SCORCHING temperatures are set to continue in Northern Ireland today after a weekend of endless sunshine.

It was reported the hottest day of the year for the region was recorded on Sunday, with the Met Office confirming a high of 24.5 °C in Castlederg, Co Tyrone.

Monday’s forecast has also predicted a maximum temperature of 24 °C. Any overnight mist or low cloud should clear this morning to leave a dry day with spells of sunshine and some clouds this afternoon.

The warm conditions are expected to be especially felt across the west.

Tuesday will see a maximum heat of 23 °C for another dry, bright and warm day with onshore breezes along the coast.

Wednesday to Friday is to remain dry with some good spells of sunshine, with the west again predicted to feel the hottest.
