GRADAÍ investigating the murder of a woman in Co Louth have arrested a man in his 20s.

The body of 62-year-old grandmother Catherine Henry was found in suspicious circumstances at her home in the Bridge Street area of Dundalk on the evening of Wednesday May 24.

Following a post-mortem examination, Gardaí launched a murder investigation.

The suspect in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday, and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He remained in Gardaí custody on Thursday evening.
