Motorcyclist from Ballyclare dies in hospital after crash

A motorcyclist who died in hospital after a crash in Co Antrim has been named by police as 30-year-old Conor McGrugan.

The PSNI confirmed Mr McGrugan, who was from the Ballyclare area, died from his injuries in hospital after the two-vehicle collision on the Templepatrick Road, Ballyclare, on May 7.

A police spokesperson said the crash involved a blue Tesla Model S car and a blue Yamaha motorcycle around 4.35pm.

“Officers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from other emergency services," they said.

“The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital following the collision for treatment but sadly died from his injuries in hospital."

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing, with officers appealing for anyone with dash-cam footage or relevant information to call 101, quoting reference 1360 for May 7.
