A 25-year-old man has been charged after a quantity of suspected drugs were found when he was stopped while cycling through Belfast city centre.

Police said officers stopped the man on a pushbike in the Oxford Street area at around 12.40am on Monday.

Following a search, a quantity of suspected Class C drugs were recovered. A follow-up search of a house in the Ormeau Road area led to police seizing a quantity of suspected Pregabalin tablets.

The man was charged on Monday with a number of offences including possession of class A, B and C controlled drugs, and will appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court next month.

All charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
