FORMER DUP deputy leader Nigel Dodds has pledged to include World Cup tickets and hospitality he received from football's governing body on the House of Lords' register of interests.

It has emerged that the former North Belfast MP was "gifted" two tickets and hospitality from Fifa for an unspecified game at the recent tournament in Qatar.

He was accompanied to the match by a member of his family.

A statement on behalf of the DUP peer provided to the Nolan Show said: "Nigel and one member of his family attended the World Cup.

"Tickets and some hospitality were gifted to Nigel by Fifa but travel and accommodation were at his own cost."

The statement said the gifts would be recorded on the House of Lords register of interests within the specified time period.
