The north's 'six best' pubs named as they prepare to compete in London industry final

SIX venues in the north have been named regional winners in the 2022 National Pub & Bar Awards and will compete to be named the UK's best at an event this summer.

The Speckled Hen in Lisburn joins Lurgan's Courthouse Bar, The Dundrum Inn, Fermanagh's Crow's Nest, Tomney's in Dungannon, and Granny Annies in Derry as six county winners in the annual competition.

The six venues will be represented at the final in London in June, when they will compete for the overall Pub of the Year title alongside other regional winners from England, Scotland and Wales.

A spokesperson for the Dundrum Inn said staff were "delighted" at the award, adding it was time "to dust off the glad rags, have a party, and collect the award in June".
