FANS of the hit series Game of Thrones have been given a first look at what to expect at the world’s only permanent themed studio tour experience in Co Down.

While the new exhibition is not due to open at the Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge until February, images of what can be seen in the 110,000sq ft interactive studio were released yesterday.

Located at one of the original filming locations, the attraction will provide visitors with the opportunity to look at the show's iconic sets, including views of the Dragonstone's Throne Room.

One of the photographs released shows how fans will be able to step across the flagstones of the Great Hall at Winterfell, while another reveals how the tour will house a reconstruction of the production design department.

Other images show some of the costume department exhibitions, with several Game Of Thrones iconic outfits on display.

There will be behind-the-scenes information on the fantasy series, which was adapted from George R.R. Martin 's novels, with fans able to take in breathtaking imagery, captivating sets and original props.

Fans will also learn about the visual effects that went into the series, before testing out their acting skills in an interactive green screen experience.

Game of Thrones, which was first broadcast in 2011, tells the story of nine families in mythical and magical Westeros and their fight to gain power in the region.

Primarily shot in Northern Ireland, it ran for eight seasons and starred Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen and Kit Harington as Jon Snow.

Speaking earlier this month, Peter van Roden from Warner Bros Themed Entertainment, said: "We’re incredibly excited to be opening the doors to the first-ever Game of Thrones studio tour at Linen Mill Studios.

"Knowing you are in the very same spot where some of the series’ most memorable moments were filmed is an incredible feeling and we know fans of the franchise will feel the same when they see the rich detail in the sets, costumes and props up close and personal."
