HOLLYWOOD actress Sharon Stone will discuss her ties to Northern Ireland during an appearance on tonight's Late, Late Show.

The Basic Instinct star will chat to host Ryan Tubridy about her friendship with Betty Williams, the Nobel peace laureate who died last year at the age of 76.

The Andersonstown woman formed the Peace People in 1976 with Mairead Corrigan Maguire and Ciaran McKeown.

In January 2020 Stone accompanied Mrs Williams when she visited Belfast City Hall to sign a book of condolence in memory of former SDLP deputy leader Seamus Mallon.

The Golden Globe winning actress later also signed one of Belfast’s peace walls in memory of Mr Mallon.

She will also discuss her health battles including surviving a terrifying brain bleed during the show, which is raising awareness of Pieta House's annual Darkness into Light fundraising campaign.

Also appearing will be All Ireland-winning player and manager Jim McGuinness, who will speak about swapping Gaelic football for soccer.

Mr McGuinness, who has worked as a performance consultant with Celtic FC, has previously described how the loss of two of his brothers motivated him on the road to success.

Also making an appearance will be Irish jockey Rachael Blackmore, who recently won the Grand National.

Westmeath GAA star and former AFL player Ray Connellan, spoken word artist Malaki, and ultra-marathon runner Conor O'Keeffe will speak about their personal experiences with mental health pressures.

Meanwhile, country music star Sandy Kelly will be joined by her niece, Sandie Ellis, as they speak publicly together for the first time about the death of Sandy's sister Barbara.
