A 25-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after a 26-year-old woman was stabbed in the back in Co Derry.

The woman was stabbed at a house in Eventide Gardens in Limavady around midnight on Friday.

She was taken to hospital for treatment to a back wound.

The man is to appear before Derry Magistrate's Court this morning.

He also faces a charge of possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
