FORMER Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams has praised medical staff at Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital for caring for him after he broke his foot.
Mr Adams wrote on Facebook that he had broken several small bones.
The TD was at Stormont over the weekend as a power-sharing assembly was restored.
He joked that long-term colleague Richard McAuley was responsible for the injury.
"I told him not to stand on my toes," he wrote.
"But he didn’t listen. Great treatment in the Royal. Nurses and other health workers were brilliant."

Heres Mick Murphy advising me on the best way to get RG to walk on his own 2 feet. pic.twitter.com/1CxEcfKcON
