TWO people were last night still being questioned by police on suspicion of the murder of Lisa Dorrian.

A 49-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested yesterday morning in the Newtownards and Ballyhalbert areas and taken to Musgrave serious crime suite for questioning.

Ms Dorrian was last seen alive at Ballyhalbert Caravan Park on the Co Down coast on February 28, 2005. Police believe she was murdered.

The arrests come just days after police began new searches at the site where Ms Dorrian was last seen alive.

Police are also searching a disused airfield behind the caravan park in Ballyhalbert as well as a number of other locations as part of a "large scale search operation".

Detective Suptintendent Jason Murphy, who is leading the investigation, said his team were using new technology that was not available at the time of her disappearance in 2005.

He also said police believed her body was still in Ballyhalbert.

Various searches carried out over the years have failed to find her remains.
