Police investigate 'racially-motivated hate crime' in north Belfast

POLICE in north Belfast are investigating a report that two women were subject to racist abuse in north Belfast.

It was reported that the women were walking to their car on Kent Street at around 6pm on Saturday when they were verbally abused by a man using racist language.

The women got into the car and left and later noticed damage to the passenger side of the car.

A man was arrested in relation to the incident and was subsequently released pending further police enquiries.

The PSNI have said they are treating the incident as a racially motivated hate crime and appeal for anyone with any information to contact them on 101 or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
