Woman (31) arrested after west Belfast burglary

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested by police investigating a burglary in west Belfast.

Police said a resident of the house in the Dunmore Street area was woken by a female intruder who had gained access to the property on Sunday at around 4.20am.

“The woman attempted to take a number of items of clothing, however, made off empty handed after being challenged by a resident,” a PSNI spokesperson said.

“Officers attended and the woman, aged 31, was apprehended a short time later and arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal and criminal damage.

““She remains in police custody at this time.

“I am appealing to anyone with any information or to anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist our enquiries to contact police on 101 quoting reference 324 of 25/02/24.”
