Two taken to hospital following north Belfast crash involving motorcycle

Two people have been taken to hospital following a crash involving a motorcycle and a car in north Belfast.

The collision happened shortly after 6pm in the Cliftonville Road area of the city.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it “despatched two emergency crews to the incident,” adding: “The HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) team was also tasked to attend by car.”

The spokesperson said two people were taken to Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital following assessment and initial treatment at the scene.

The Cliftonville Road was closed at the scene in both directions following the collision by police, but has since reopened to traffic.
