Trio charged over ramming of police vehicle following burglary

Three people have been charged in connection with a burglary in south Belfast and the ramming of a police vehicle.

The incidents are alleged to have happened in the Ormeau Road area of the city on Saturday.

A 36-year-old man has been charged with offences including aggravated vehicle taking causing injury, burglary, assault on police, and failing to stop for police, and is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday.

A 45-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman have been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, in which the vehicle was driven dangerously. The woman has been further charged with possession of a Class C controlled drug.

Both are expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on March 8, and all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
