Thefts from cars in Banbridge investigated after man detained in Republic

Police are investigating thefts of items from vehicles in Co Down after a man was arrested by gardaí in the Republic.

PSNI officers received reports of the theft of items from two vehicles in the Brookdale area of Banbridge on Sunday, following contact from Gardaí, who had arrested a man in his twenties on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

The items reported stolen included a wallet, a laptop and a number of mobile phones.

The detained man remained in custody on Monday helping officers with enquiries.



A PSNI spokesperson said: “Anyone who may have any information in relation to these incidents is asked to get in touch with police, and the number to call is 101, quoting reference number 678 of 14/04/24.”
