Suspected cannabis cultivation factory discovered in south Belfast

A suspected cannabis cultivation factory has been uncovered at a house in the outskirts of south Belfast.

Police said officers made the discovery following a fire at the property in the Ballynahinch Road area of Carryduff on Wednesday.

A PSNI spokesman said: “Officers attended and our colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze.

“A further search of the property revealed a suspected cannabis cultivation factory.

“Enquiries are ongoing and an investigation has begun.

“Anyone with any information which could be of assistance to police to contact the police on non-emergency number 101.”
